We generate
affirmative energy

through solo drawings
soft sculptures made in duo
and collective embodied experiences

DAY Collective is an artist duo consisting of Dorota Radzimirska and Yulia Ratman, based in Amsterdam. Their artistic research involves participatory performances and installations from soft sculptures and intuitive drawings. It manifests the power of consciousness and aims to cultivate spirit. In the participatory performances they apply embodied interactions with people and the environment; these are intimate wordless experiences. Everyone is welcome to join them. In the installations, people are invited to interact with soft sculptures, sit, lie or hug them, and contemplate the drawings. Both in performances as well as in installations, the narrative evolves during the process, from within. It activates the senses, intuition, and imagination. In this way, a new connection with yourself, others, and the environment can be awakened.

BIO

Dorota Radzimirska (born in 1985 in Poland) and Yulia Ratman (born in 1988 in USSR) graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academy (VAV - Fine Arts) in 2016. For both, it was a second education. Dorota has an MA in Socio-Cultural Studies (Multicultural Education), from Warsaw University, Poland (2010) and Yulia has a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, UK (2011). The mutual interest in creating conditions for new relations, and embodied forms of knowledge, together with a conscious approach to using materials led them to establish DAY Collective.
